It's good that you have this Mam Gie of yours who initiated you into the mysteries of blogging. Intriguing. She must be a blogger herself. I wish I had someone like her back then.

I also majored in chemistry but none of my professors were as tech savvy (or as witty) as your Mam Gie. Oh, in fairness to them, blogging wasn't heard of then. And, I lied a bit; some of them were tech savvy—if by tech savvy we mean writing long, boring lines of Pascal programming code to solve numerical analysis problems using the Newton-Raphson method. But that's about as exciting as watching paint dry, is it not? It does not come close to the fun that blogging brings.

After awhile, I guess you'll like it here and you'll thank that Mam Gie of yours. The blogosphere has so much to offer by way of interaction, friendship and self-improvement. You'll see how fun it will be to break geographical and racial barriers. While in the past you were merely one of the many surfers, now, you are among the few attractions. Welcome to this world that is unbounded by time and space.
